1972 Austin Kimberley X6 MKII, QJD 274
An exquisite example of a multiple show & concourse winning 1972 Austin Kimberley X6 MKII, 2.2 litre 6 cylinder, 4 speed manual. The Kimberley is finished in cream white over a tan interior and presents immaculately for it's age.
The odometer reads 57'100 original miles and is well regarded by Australian Austin enthusiasts to be the best remaining example in the country. It's provenance and heritage can be further confirmed by the numerous awards and trophies the vehicle has collected through its life. These will also accompany the car with the new owner.
Being a late 1972 (towards the very end of the Kimberley's production run), this further enhances its appeal to collectors. The Austin is accompanied with the original books and Leyland Australia booklet, as well as numerous receipts and various papers. The rare front sun visor and rear blind options are also with the car, fitted and in excellent order.
The exterior is excellent condition, with no imperfections worth mentioning as you would expect from a concourse car. The paint is in remarkable condition having being garaged its entire life. The body work is also immaculate with no pitting or corrosion. Tyres are near new Kumho's with around 95% tread.
The Interior looks and feels as close to new as possible. The seats are subtle and unworn, the dashboard and steering wheel are excellent and even the gear-stick has the original logo.
The Kimberley drives as it did when it left the showroom in 1972. It is a two owner vehicle, the second owner having it in his possession for a very long time after purchasing it from the original owner. Having recently passed away it is now up for auction.
